Game Waypoint is built privacy-first. You can explore the map without an account, your location stays on your device, and we never sell your data or track you across other apps. This page explains what we do — and don’t — collect.
The short version: No account is needed to explore and search. An optional sign-in (Sign in with Apple or Google) is available for Premium and to sync your settings. We keep data to a minimum, don’t track you across apps, and never sell it. Your location stays on your device.
01Who we are
Game Waypoint (“Game Waypoint”, “we”, “us”) is an independent app that reskins real-world maps to look like popular open-world games, with real GPS and turn-by-turn navigation on iPhone and Apple CarPlay. You can reach us any time at GameWaypointApp@gmail.com.
02What information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible.
- When you just explore (no account): essentially nothing personal. No name, email or profile is required to browse the map, search, or switch styles.
- If you create an optional account (see below): a basic account identifier, any settings you choose to sync, and your subscription status.
- Never: we don’t use advertising trackers, we don’t build ad profiles, and we don’t sell or rent your data to anyone.
03Accounts & sign-in
You can use the core app — exploring, searching and switching map styles — without signing in. An optional account is offered so you can unlock and manage Premium (Driving Mode), keep your settings and favorites in sync, and restore your subscription on a new device.
When available, you’ll be able to sign in with Apple or Google. In that case we receive a sign-in identifier from Apple or Google and, depending on your choice and their settings, your name and email address. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your email using Apple’s private relay — that’s fully supported. We use these details only to create and run your account; we don’t use them for advertising, and we never sell them.
Apple and Google act as identity providers here and handle sign-in under their own privacy policies.
04Location data
Navigation needs your location. With your permission, the app reads your device’s GPS position to center the map, show where you are and calculate routes. This happens on your device. Your continuous location is not sent to, collected by or stored on our servers.
When you search for a place or request directions, the necessary query (such as an address you type, or the start and destination coordinates for a route) is sent to the mapping and routing services that power those features (see “Third-party services”). You can turn location access on or off at any time in your device settings.
05No ads or cross-app tracking
We don’t show ads, we don’t use cross-app tracking, and we don’t fingerprint your device. We may use privacy-respecting, aggregated diagnostics (for example, Apple’s standard crash reports) to keep the app stable — never to identify you personally.
06Payments & subscriptions
Game Waypoint is free to explore and search. An optional Premium subscription (Driving Mode) will be available for $4.99 per month, or the equivalent in your local currency. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store — we never see or store your card details. Your account, if you have one, simply records whether Premium is active so we can unlock the right features.
07Third-party services
To provide sign-in, maps and navigation, Game Waypoint relies on a few trusted services, each with its own privacy terms:
- Apple & Google — optional Sign in with Apple / Google, and (Apple) the App Store, subscriptions and CarPlay.
- Map & tile data — map imagery is based on OpenStreetMap data.
- Routing & place search — used to calculate directions and find places you search for.
We share only what a feature needs (for example, an address you search) — never more than necessary.
08Children’s privacy
Game Waypoint is a general-audience navigation app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
09Your rights, data & deletion
You’re in control. You can use the app without an account, and manage location access any time in your device settings. If you create an account, you can ask us to access or delete it and any associated data — just email GameWaypointApp@gmail.com and we’ll take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, and we honor those requests.
10Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, note it in the app or on this site. Continuing to use Game Waypoint after an update means you accept the revised policy.
